about the writer
Hello again. I’m Mae.
I’m twenty-four, endlessly nosy, and happiest with a notebook and a coffee that’s gone slightly cold. This blog started as a place to park the thoughts that wouldn’t fit in a text message. It hasn’t really changed since.

What you’ll find here
Long-ish essays, published when they’re ready rather than when a schedule says so. Slow mornings and the rituals that hold them up. Coast roads and cheap hotels. A kitchen I’m still learning. Books that rearranged me. Occasionally, a proper opinion.
Things I believe about writing
- Specific beats clever. A named street is worth ten adjectives.
- If I can’t say it to a friend at a kitchen table, it isn’t finished.
- Publishing a little late is better than publishing a lot of nothing.
I’m not documenting a perfect life. I’m keeping a record of an ordinary one, in reasonably good light.

If something here lands, tell me — I answer every message, eventually. Start with the journal, or say hello on the contact page.
